WHAT IS NEUROPEN USED FOR?
Neuropen is a clinical screening tool used to assess sensation in the feet. It is particularly relevant to diabetes foot checks, where clinicians look for signs of reduced protective sensation.
Peripheral neuropathy can reduce a person’s ability to feel pressure or pain. Foot screening helps identify people who may need further assessment, foot-care advice or referral.
The results should be considered alongside the patient’s history, circulation and other clinical findings. Neuropen does not diagnose diabetes or replace a full foot examination.

HOW THE DEVICE WORKS
A replaceable monofilament at one end and a Neurotip at the other support two distinct sensory assessments.

The monofilament applies a measured force to assess touch and pressure sensation associated with large nerve fibres.
View monofilamentsA Neurotip fitted to the pen supports assessment of reduced sensitivity to sharpness or pain associated with small nerve fibres.
View NeurotipsFor trained healthcare professionals. Follow the instructions supplied with the device and your local clinical protocol. Neurotips are for single use.
WHO IS IT FOR?
For clinicians trained in sensory assessment, working within their scope of practice and local foot-screening protocols.
For sensory assessment as part of diabetes foot checks and broader foot-health reviews.
For trained primary-care clinicians assessing foot sensation and identifying the need for further review.
For trained diabetes educators, nurses and multidisciplinary teams involved in foot-risk assessment.
